Perla Valencia-Landestoy is a Toxicologist for the U.S. Toxicology team at Broughton Life Sciences with five years of experience in the field of human health risk assessments. At Broughton, Perla supports the development of non-clinical strategies for regulatory submissions of e-cigarette products in the US and UK. Perla’s educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus and an ongoing master's in Toxicology and Pharmacology from Michigan State University.
Perla began her career as a quality control analyst for the biotechnology company Amgen in Puerto Rico, where she ensured the products complied for patient use. Also, supported the development of GLP/GMP-compliant electronic batch record systems for laboratory documentation and implementing new test methods. Later, Perla worked as a human health risk assessor in the toxicology department at Juul Labs, Inc. in San Francisco, California, to support non-clinical studies for the PMTA submission and the development of new products.
