Ingredients and Toxicology Reports

Understanding the ingredients in your product and the potential harm that they may cause to consumers is standard due diligence. Our dedicated team can assist with:

  • Assessing the full ingredient disclosure to ensure listed prohibited ingredients are not present in the formulation
  • Toxicological reports for each ingredient as required for the notification
Product Testing

The testing required for TPD/TRPR notification is nicotine dose consistency and emissions testing for specific carbonyls and metals, as stipulated by EU member states for TPD and Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for TRPR.

Whether you have a device only, e-liquid only, or a combination product, our team of scientists has the capabilities to analyze your products and provide data to support your TPD/TRPR notification.

Packaging Review

In addition to TPD/TRPR requirements, there may be further country-specific requirements for package design, warning labels, and leaflets.

We can assess your packaging for compliance with TPD/TRPR for each notified country and provide recommendations as appropriate.

This ensures the product complies with the stated requirements and compliance with other applicable regulations including Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) if e-liquids are present, and General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR).

Submission of Data
To complete your TPD/TRPR notification, we will compile your data and electronically submit it on your behalf through the online portals. The notification fee varies between EU member states as enforced by the appropriate regulatory authority and is payable directly by the client.

The market has grown significantly since TPD2 was finalized in 2013. The Directive entered into force on 19 May 2014 and became applicable in the EU Member States on 20 May 2016. This TPD2 legislation is due to be reviewed by the EU Commission in early 2022 to adapt the regulations and align with the rapidly evolving next-generation products (NGPs) market. It is anticipated an agreement on the new TPD3 revised terms will be reached in line with the European 2024 elections.
