Raising funds for Mind in the 600 Mile Challenge

Throughout September, employees at Broughton came together to raise £1,815 for Mind Bradford. Mind is a mental health-focused charity that provides assistance, support, and resources to anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Everyone at Broughton is proud to support this fabulous charity.

Our runners, swimmers and even surfers undertook the mammoth challenge earlier this year: everyone from directors, quality assurance experts and scientists took part, representing one of four Broughton Teams. Each team was put together with diversity in mind, grouping together different professionals from across the business to ensure a mix of minds, varying levels of fitness and sporting preferences- altogether our four teams performed incredibly by combining physical exercise with working towards a common charitable goal.

While our clients come from across the world, we also believe it is important to support and uplift the community we live and work in, which is why we chose to fundraise with the Bradford arm of Mind, with the mission to help and support people around the area were our laboratories are in the UK. The charity was selected via a vote and most employees chose Mind partly due to our long-term focus on promoting positive mental health. We have fundraised as a company for Mind in the past, having also completed the 600 mile challenge last year, and held bake sales and even a fancy-dressed dragon boat race to raise funds for the charity.

The 600 Mile Challenge is an annual charity fundraiser that takes place every September, where a team of 4 aims to complete 600 miles between them in just one month. You can achieve the 600 by any means possible, running, walking, cycling, swimming: one Broughton employee even took to the seas to surf a portion of their mileage!

If you would like to support the challenge, please donate to the fundraiser here.
