Fundraising
Comic Relief and Red Nose Day returned this year as individuals and organizations nationwide came together to fundraise. Here at Broughton, we took part in various activities to raise over £140!
The Broughton team organized our very own GBBO (Great Broughton Bake Off) and bake sale. Some members of Broughton staff cooked up a host of delightful treats to sell for Comic Relief; the team voted for their favorites at each site, with the winners taking home an easter prize and a ‘Broughton Star-Baker’ mug!
From cakes to brownies and biscuits with everything in between, the staff at Oaktree House and Coleby House were treated to some superb baking efforts. After the donations had been taken and the plates cleared, the votes were counted, and the winners were:
Emma Woodhouse’s millionaire shortbread (Oaktree House) & Jack Penny’s triple chocolate mini egg brownies (Colbey House)!

So far, we’ve managed to raise £143, but there are still donations to be counted! As well as the bake sale, Broughton’s home working staff were able to participate and raise funds: Comic Relief ran a sweepstake competition to guess comedian and presenter Ellie Taylor’s favorite dance move. Our staff across the country could enter and play along while raising valuable funds.
Comic Relief supports incredible projects and organizations making a difference for people across the UK and worldwide. The money raised will help support people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems, and food poverty in the UK and worldwide.
