Business Development Manager

• Worked in the scientific field for over 20 years
• Part of Broughton’s commercial team after 4 years in an HR/Recruitment role
• Part of the Broughton team that grew into the Life Sciences business

Jay started his career testing pharmaceutical products in the laboratories of a global CRO. Extensive experience of testing solid-dose formulations, pMDIs and nasal sprays. He progressed from being an analyst to a supervisory role, ensuring that the work was scheduled and managing client communications.

After this,  Jay moved into teaching. Spending 12 years teaching chemistry up to A level at a secondary school and managing the data for the GCSE cohort.

After leaving the education sector, Jay joined Broughton as Training and Development manager and designed the induction programme for new starters. This evolved into recruitment as Broughton grew. Overall, Jay has been involved in the hiring of about 100 members of Broughton’s team! Recently, Jay moved into the commercial team to support the laboratory services part of the business.
