Alberto is a Principal Scientist in Human Studies at Broughton with a BSc in psychology and a Research MSc in Neurosciences. He has been involved in cannabis and psychedelics research for a decade. Alberto started his research activities at the University of California San Diego and later at the Hospital Puerta de Hierro (Madrid, Spain), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, International Center of Ethnobotanical Education Research and Service (ICEERS, Barcelona) and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Barcelona).. There, he conducted research in multiple areas, including preclinical, clinical, behavioural and genome-wide association studies. Many of these studies were also published in high-impact specialized scientific journals. After academia, Alberto worked as a research scientist in the medical cannabis industry, conducting human studies and preparing applications for the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices.
